What Is a White-Label eSIM? The Complete Guide for Resellers
A white-label eSIM is a prepaid eSIM data plan that you sell under your own brand while a wholesale platform supplies the network access, provisioning and delivery behind the scenes. Your customer sees your name, logo and prices; the platform handles carriers, QR codes and activation.

"White label" means a product made by one company and sold under another company's brand. A white-label eSIM applies that idea to mobile data: you sell travel eSIM plans as your own product, while a wholesale provider does the heavy lifting with carriers and technology.
For travel agencies, apps, telecom operators and online stores, it's the fastest way to add connectivity to what they already sell — without negotiating with networks or building telecom infrastructure.
How a white-label eSIM works
There are three layers in every white-label eSIM sale:
- Mobile networks — the local operators in each country that carry the data.
- The wholesale platform — aggregates network access, packages it into plans (for example Italy, 5 GB, 30 days), and provisions the eSIM profiles.
- You, the brand — choose which plans to sell, set the retail price, and deliver the eSIM to your customer under your name.
When your customer buys, you (or your website, through the API) place an order with the platform. The platform returns an eSIM — an activation code, a QR code and an install link — and your customer installs it on their phone.
What makes it "white-label"
The key is what your customer doesn't see. In a true white-label setup:
- The QR code carries your logo and colours, and the install page never names the supplier
- Emails and receipts come from you
- You set the price — the platform's price is your cost, not your customer's
- Top-ups and support happen through you, so you keep the relationship
With Fully Signal, every eSIM is delivered with a QR code in your colours with your logo, and a white-label install page, either from the partner panel or through the install_page_url returned by the API. We cover the details in branded eSIM QR codes and install pages.
White-label vs affiliate vs building it yourself
| Model | Who owns the brand | Your income | Effort |
|---|---|---|---|
| Affiliate link | The eSIM company | A commission per sale | Very low |
| White-label reselling | You | Full margin + repeat top-ups | Low to medium |
| Becoming an MVNO / building your own stack | You | Highest potential, highest cost | Very high |
For most businesses, white-label is the sweet spot: you get the brand and the margin without carrier contracts, SIM provisioning or roaming agreements.
What it costs to start
With a modern wholesale platform, the startup cost can be close to zero:
- No setup fee on Fully Signal — the partner account is free
- No minimum volume and no long-term contract
- A prepaid balance: you deposit funds and each eSIM you sell is paid from it
- Tiered wholesale prices that improve as your volume grows
The real cost is your time: choosing destinations, setting prices and marketing your offer. Our wholesale pricing guide shows how to calculate your margin.
What you need to launch
- A brand (name and logo) and a place to sell — website, app, booking flow or simply email
- A wholesale account with a catalogue, pricing and delivery tools
- Install instructions your customers can follow (the platform's white-label install page covers this)
- A support process for "my eSIM won't connect" questions — see our customer support playbook
Common mistakes to avoid
- Choosing on price alone. A cheap plan on a weak network creates refunds and support tickets. Read why the cheapest wholesale price isn't everything.
- Selling too many plans. Start with your customers' top destinations and two or three sizes each.
- Skipping the install test. Install a test eSIM yourself on both iPhone and Android before launch.
- Forgetting top-ups. Customers who run out of data are your easiest second sale.
FAQ
Is a white-label eSIM the same as a private-label eSIM?
Yes, the terms are used interchangeably. Both mean eSIM data sold under the reseller's brand while a wholesale provider supplies the service.
Do I need a telecom licence to sell white-label eSIMs?
In many markets a reseller of prepaid travel data does not need its own operator licence, because the licensed networks provide the service. Rules vary by country, so check locally — our article on whether reselling eSIMs is legal covers the basics.
Will my customers know who the wholesale provider is?
Not from the delivery. With Fully Signal, the QR code carries your logo and colours and the install page never shows ours. The local network name may appear on the phone once connected, which is normal for any travel eSIM.
How fast can I start selling?
The Fully Signal panel opens as soon as you register. You can test with sample data immediately and go live after your first deposit.
